This is a picture I took one day of the ORU hands of Jesus sculpture.
We are living in very confused times and uncertain times for sure. The media does not help. There is fighting in the world and genocide of Christians happening. People are dying from Covid and now they say there are variants. Vaccines being pushed but yet the vaccines are not working and can be almost as harmful as the disease itself. Then there are the life things people worried about jobs, businesses worried about having enough people to work for them, people being lazy and content with just taking a government check, people sick, people scared. This brings me to a certain scripture....
2 Timothy (NKJV)
3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
It certainly seems that we are here. It is normal to feel but don't give into those feelings. Don't keep your eyes on the things of this world. Remember my friends Peter didn't sink until he took his eyes OFF of Jesus and looked at the storm.
Matthew 14 (NKJV)
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
I love this piece of scripture. We could land on these few versus and do a whole sermon. When Peter's eyes were ON Jesus he did the IMPOSSIBLE. This tells us that when we are in a life storm to keep our eyes on Jesus, continue to SPEAK faith, continue to stand on his words. Another thing we should notice is that when he was weak in his faith, when he felt himself sinking, all hope was lost he only had to cry out to our Lord "save me" and then he felt the loving hand of our Lord pull him up with him.
When this life gets to be too much we only have to keep our focus on our Lord, We only have to whisper his name "Jesus". We only have to believe!
Jesus never said we would not go through storms and that life would be easy. However, he will be there with us. I know there are scoffers out there that would say well what does that do for my problems. If you will only just believe he will give you peace and he will pull you through and you will get to the other side one way or another. Here is spiritual truth. If Jesus is in your heart you win no matter what. You will either be healed on earth or healed in earthly death. I say earthly death because there is no death for those that Love Christ because in Him we are alive.
2 Corinthians 5:8 (NKJV)
“We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”
I could write a whole book about my life. My whole life has been overcoming one thing or another. I have been brought through hell, saved from what could have killed me, restored what was stolen and so much more. I have been healed and currently going through healing. I know that I am here and my family together because of my faith in Jesus Christ. I know the comfort he brought me when my mother was dying, I know the comfort and healing he brought when it looked like my marriage was lost. We celebrate 28 years next week. I know as I breath oxygen Jesus saves.
Here is my prayer for you my friend, I pray that you would know Jesus Christ. If you want to know my Jesus pray this prayer...
Dear Jesus I want to know you, please come into my heart and fill my soul with your spirit. I believe that you died on the cross, you rose again taking the keys of hell from Satan and you are coming again very soon. I repent of all my sins and receive your forgiveness as the only one that can save me from hell. Thank you Jesus now please walk with me, comfort me and show me your ways. In Jesus name Amen.
Let's Pray:
We come before you Lord in the name of Jesus Christ and we ask Lord that you would comfort our hearts, give us the peace that is beyond all understanding. We ask Lord for your healing power to sweep this country and those around the world. We rebuke the spirit of the virus Covid and all Satan's lying cohorts. We demand right now for Satan to loose his grip on your people and our lives. We repent of doing things our own way Lord. We repent of doubt, times where we did not have faith, times where we lost sight of you. Lord please help us to keep our focus on you and your word. Direct our steps Lord lest we dash our foot upon a stone. We thank you Lord for your son Jesus Christ who saves us, comforts us and loves us no matter what. We thank you Father God that your Holy Spirit fills our hearts and heals us right now. Pour your spirit out upon us now in Jesus name we pray Amen!
