Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

As we approach another Christmas holiday and walk into a new year leaving this one behind I felt that God was speaking to me today to share a word with my readers. I think a lot of people would agree that we are ready to leave 2022 behind. It has been a hard one. There has been illnesses, death, hardships and trials that many of us want to leave behind with the hopes of a new year. I certainly do not want to experience some of the things I did this year again. However, I am reminded by something my mom said to me when she was dying. She said," Be careful wishing your life away because I probably won't be here this Christmas." I was going through school finishing my degree and had made the remark that I could not wait for break. When she said that I stopped in my tracks and have always remembered her saying that. She was right, she was gone and not with me that Christmas. It was 2004 and she passed in October then December we lost my husband's grandmother.

Every moment we have on here on earth with our family and those we love should be treasured. We get busy and we take moments for granted but we shouldn't.

James 4:14

Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.

James is right. Our life is a vapor. Never leave on an angry word and always tell those you love that you love them because it could be the last time you get to say it. No one is promised tomorrow.

Psalm 118:24

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Proverbs 27:1

Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.

We learn from scripture to love each other NOW. Salvation is not for tomorrow but for NOW. The calendar changing does not magically change anything. Your life will not be any different unless you start NOW focusing on God and putting him first. Start NOW appreciating the ones you love. The time truly is NOW. Let me encourage you that as you walk into this new year that you will embrace the NOW. Stop and smell the roses, enjoy the little things, enjoy the moments with those you love and recognize them truly as gifts from God.

No one is promised tomorrow, all you have is right NOW.

Lets Pray: Father God let us fix our eyes on you right now and those things that are before us. Remind us Lord when we feel the need to allow our anger to get the best of us that we stop and remember to act in Love. Help us Lord in our fleshly human forms to remember the sacrifice that you made giving your only son upon that cross so that we may be saved from hell. Let us recognized the Love you demonstrated to us through your son Jesus and that we would aim to be more like you. We repent Lord of allowing our flesh to take over and ask that you strengthen us and guide us to walk in the spirit. We love you and ask this in our Lord Jesus Name.
