Nestled just over a hill off old Route 66 between Catoosa and Verdigris sets my favorite steak restaurant. My husband and I have been going here since our 4th anniversary I think maybe even before that. We will be married 28 years this year and so it has been a long time. It is something I always look forward to. I enjoy the 1872 rib eye. It has this special rub that creates sort of a spice crust but the steak melts in your mouth like butter. Seriously, I have eaten at a lot of restaurants. Hands down the best steak and I would challenge anyone that would disagree. I could go on and on about the many memories going here. Like the time we were sitting in the back room and the local friendly cats were outside our window when a friendly raccoon decided to join. The time we had to wait an extra long time because we went late on a weekend during a busy time. We spent the time outside together just chatting away. It is something we look forward to and share a great affection.
What if people could say this about God, the church, reading the bible. What if we could not get enough of the word and church was a place we looked forward to every week? Our memories would include the conversations we had about Jesus and the many memories we made. I am speaking to myself as well. I know we are all a work in progress. However, I do look forward to church every week. Just makes me think if we had the same affections for Jesus and his church and his word how much better things would be. Can you imagine people not getting offended? People forgiving each other and being kind? People caring about the unborn babies and taking care of each other? Sounds a lot like Heaven to me.
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst
Hebrews 10:25
not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
