God is good all the time and all the time God is good. If you are like me you say this and have heard this said. One of the fruits of the spirit is "goodness". We have goodness that should be the good fruit we are producing. When you are Holy Spirit filled then you not only tell people of His goodness but you show it in your behavior and the way you live your life. This type of goodness does not mean preaching from a pulpit or a street corner. This is goodness that you show others in your every day life.
We all have a ministry. Does not matter who you are we have a ministry if we are born again Christians. You do not need a bible college degree or permission from anyone to minister for Christ.
Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Something you need to understand is that when Jesus died on the cross he stripped Satan of his authority on this earth and gave it to those that would follow him. That includes us today. So in his commission to his followers he says to "GO" , that is us today. The only one that we should get our permission from is Jesus and he has already given it.
Your ministry is in your work place, the grocery store, sitting on your porch, emails you send, your family and the stranger on the street. The way you treat them, the goodness that you give to others of yourself. Let me give you an example, let's say someone messes up your order, you have a perfect opportunity to show them Jesus. You have a choice in how your choose to react to them. Do you get angry or do you show them love understanding and peacefully remind them of your right order? A simple smile and have a good day to a frowning work colleague. A moment to tell someone a compliment or to help someone with the door. Your goodness should easily flow to others as you go about your day.
I would be remiss if I did not talk about the goodness of our God. If he woke you up to read them then just thank him for his goodness. God will make a way when you seen o way. He has literally saved my life so many times. He has fixed me when I was broken and reassured me through my pain. God is no respecter of persons what he will do for one he will do for you too!
Psalm 145:9
The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.
Psalm 23:6
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever
James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning
Let's Pray
Father God we come before you today and thank you for your goodness. We thank you Lord for never failing us even when we fail you. We repent for any time we have tried to do things in our own might instead of trusting in your goodness to complete that which you said you would complete. We thank you that in Is 55 you said that your word does not return unto you void but performs what it says you will do. Because Lord you are so good we can trust you. Help us Lord to be good to those around us not just when all is going right but even when it seems all is going wrong help us to push through knowing that it will all work out. Give us peace Lord in this beautiful journey. In the name of Jesus we pray Amen!
